A life long resident of Stratford, Connecticut; Richard Giarniero has a long and diverse background in business and finance. Before entering the legal profession, he developed financial vehicles and promotional packages for numerous clients in the communications, entertainment and advertising industries for nearly 15 years. He is a graduate of Sacred Heart University, and holds Master’s Degrees from The University of Connecticut and The Pennsylvania State University. He completed his Juris Doctor Degree at Quinnipiac College in 1993. Since becoming a member of the Bar, Mr. Giarniero, has worked as a contract attorney on several high profile mergers and in litigation on such cases, as HENRY v. SEARS and Calvin Klein v. Warnaco.
Prior to opening his own practice in Stratford, he served as counsel for BayView Bank as they acquired Franchise Mortgage Acceptance Company in Greenwich. He was responsible for the harmonization and compliance with the newly instituted commercial filings rules. This included managing accounts in all fifty states and reconciling loans to be discounted and sold. As a natural out-growth of his banking experience, Richard Giarniero began helping clients with credit problems. He has since established himself in the credit industry as a strong debtor’s advocate who has developed very good working relationships with consumer lending institutions and their attorneys, built on trust, understanding and mutual respect. The Giarniero Law Firm now develops individualized programs that resolve clients’ debt issues and help them reestablish good credit.
